Batman…..Known globally as the world’s greatest detective. Since his creation and inception in 1939, he has, for many decades, protected the weak, downtrodden and innocent from all sorts of threats, enemies and villains. There have been many incarnations of the Caped Crusader. Whether through film, comic, television or animation, he has graced screens and been viewed by many across the globe.

The Joker….Catwoman….The Riddler….Two Face….The Penguin….

Batman has had a colorful and vast rogues gallery of villains across the years and has defeated them on countless occasions. But there is one new foe that this latest incarnation of Batman must face, one that has yet to been found to have a weakness and only time can tell how it will progress and find defeat. This foe’s name? Covid-19.

Batman faces many foes in his quest for justice

In February of 2020, the world came face to face with a new virus, one unlike any they’d ever seen before. Each pandemic of the past had been treated and lives eventually spared. As of now, there is no known cure for Covid-19 and so many still battle the virus and its effects and so too must the Dark Knight.

Robert Pattinson, well known Hollywood actor, known mainly for his turn in Twilight, dons the cape and cowl in the newest Hollywood production of the Caped Crusader, The Batman, and has been hit by the virus, effectively halting the Dark Knight’s quest for vengeance and justice.

For many, Batman is the hero we need during the darkest of times. And in these current, and most certainly, dark and unprecedented of times, we may need him now more than ever. His fight for justice is one that inspires many and keeps the fire alive and so this hit to that is one worth watching and keeping an eye on.

How long will it be before the Caped Crusader dons his cape and cowl once more? For now, it is uncertain. But hope….Hope is all we can have now. And soon, the Batman will provide that hope in a world ravaged by a new and deadly enemy.
